JAPANESE RELIGION

Assalamualaikum and hello hello!
we are back!
today's topic will be.....JAPANESE RELIGION.
yes, we are talking about religion now because it is not fair for us to know only their place but not their religion. right?! yes. let's begin!

For centuries Japan has operated with a syncretic belief system: Shinto and Buddhist rituals coexisting side-by-side with increasing influence from other religions. This is why they say that in Japan, people are born Shinto, get married Christian and die Buddhist. so the main religion they have are Shinto and Buddhist.

Shintoism is Japan's indigenous spirituality. It is believed that every living thing in nature (e.g. trees, rocks, flowers, animals - even sounds) contains kami, or gods. As a general rule of thumb, shrines are Shinto.

Consequently Shinto principles can be seen throughout Japanese culture, where nature and the turning of the seasons are cherished. This is reflected in arts such asikebana (flower arranging) and bonsai, Japanese garden design and the annual celebration of sakura - or cherry blossom.

The Great Buddha at Kamakura

Buddhism originated in India in the 6th century BC. It consists of the teachings of the Buddha, Gautama Siddhartha. Of the main branches of Buddhism, it is the Mahayana or "Greater Vehicle" Buddhism which found its way to Japan.

Buddhism was imported to Japan via China and Korea in the form of a present from the friendly Korean kingdom of Kudara (Paikche) in the 6th century. While Buddhism was welcomed by the ruling nobles as Japan's new state religion, it did not initially spread among the common people due to its complex theories. There were a few initial conflicts with Shinto, Japan's native religion, but the two religions were soon able to co-exist and even complement each other.

so that is about it! i hope you learn something today.
THANK YOU!
 SEE U SOON!

SHIBUYA PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

Assalamualaikum. Hi, WE ARE BACK!
today we had a talk about what to post today. So we choose to post about....
Shibuya Pedestrian Crossing!

mostly this place is in Urban area. This is one of the place where it caught most people's eyes. mostly for foreigner. well, what's that? relax, don't get confuse why all of sudden we want to talk about pedestrian crossing. it is because this place is unique, they create a huge pedestrian crossing where we never seen before!

In Japan, when the pedestrian traffic lights turn green, they turn green for all directions at once. Car traffic from every direction is stopped. This enables the pedestrians to cross the intersection in whatever direction they want, including diagonally. It was such an odd view to see pedestrians walking over the middle of an intersection. one more thing, it is safer this way because it can prevent from any accidents happen.

amazing, right?!

we do have this in Malaysia. Bukit Bintang. but this is BIGGER.

so that's all about it. we will most more soon. Thank you for reading. Have a good day! bye!

MIHARU TAKIZAKURA

Assalamualaikum! Hello.

Since our team pick Japan as our choosen country, we wanted to share some information that catches our eyes in Japan. Which is.....*drum rolls* Miharu Takizakura!

oh wow! What's that?
well, actually it is an ancient cherry tree in Miharu, Fukushima Prefecture, in northern Japan. it has been confirmed that the tree is over 1000 years old! Its light pink flowers spread in all directions from the branches, like a waterfall and hence its name “Takizakura”, which means “waterfall cherry blossoms” in Japanese. It is a popular cherry blossom spot with around 300,000 people visiting the 12 meter-high national treasure every year. Many Japanese people regard it as the unofficial number one tree in all of Japan and it is a designated National Natural Monument of Japan.

so.. go and have a visit!
the best way to go and visit is on mid to late of April.

THANK YOU!
